A few weeks ago some of our friends from Church got married. Actually it was a little more complicated than that as they had already been officially married a few weeks before- anyway, this was their wedding celebration at our Church.

This was our first wedding we’ve been to here- and the first I have seen the bride rushing around giving out food to the guests. It was a real experience!

Before the wedding, Roz had been quite involved as the Madrina del Vestido- literally the matron of the wedding dress- which meant she helped choose and pay for the dress.

The wedding was supposed to start at 6 and we got to Church at about 5:30 to see if we could help.  When we arrived there was no one there and not much to suggest a wedding would be taking place.

After a while the Bride arrived and we started helping prepare the food and went to buy the drinks and cups.  At 7 there was still no-one there and the Bride was busy chopping onions.

Gradually people started to come after this and the Bride went off to a salon to have her hair done probably around 730!

It was 830 by the time everything was ready- basically as people came they got stuck in helping prepare food or set up the Church, but the Groom hadn’t arrived yet!  The Bride was in her dress and so nervous.  He arrived about 850 and she walked down the aisle at 9.10.  Chloe had got quite moany by this point, Roz was starting to think about taking her home before the wedding had even begun!  But she cheered up when she had some friends to play with.

The cake was amazing – there were 6 cakes all together we think.  We had food after and the Bride threw her bouquet.  We didn’t get back home till 11.30pm.  It was a great celebration, nothing like other weddings we’ve been to before.
