Campamento de Carnaval

Sunday to Tuesday this week was Carnaval in Bolivia- a time of full on partying, water and paint throwing, crazy costume wearing and barbecue eating.

Our Church had a camp or weekend away at David and Sarah’s house. Lee and Oscar, New Frontiers Pastors from Mexico, came to speak about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we had two baptisms, lots of great meetings, loads of nice food, Roz and I sang a memory verse with the children to the Church whilst wearing cardboard tongues of fire on our heads and everyone went swimming lots.

It was a great time. We were so encouraged by Lee and Oscar’s visit and their teaching- really practical and straight forward. We look forward to people using their gifts more in the future in and out of Church.

Baptism!

One thing I learnt especially is that we can use our gifts anytime, we shouldn’t consign them to only Sundays.

It was a lot of fun. There were loads of young people, some whom we hadn’t seen for ages so hopefully this will encourage them to come back to Church. Lots of relationships were strengthened and fun was had by all. A massive thank you to Lee and Oscar for coming and also to David and Sarah for letting us invade their house and garden.
