Thoughts from Roz

We´ve been here 1 week now.  In some ways time hasgone quickly and other ways slowly.  The hardest thing is not having lots to do yet.  i have to keep reminding myself that it will take time to make friends and to serve the church.

I love the market near us, we buy food there and lots of other things.  Its really big and the sellers are all friendly.  There is so much to look at.  I also like our neighbourhood and neighbours.  EVERYONE is friendly and people sit outside their houses so its easy to stop and say hello as we walk past.  There is a little park at the end of the road, i have gone there lots with Chloe.  The only problem is the swings don´t have a bar across so I have to tie Chloe on to the swing with her reins or she will fall off.

Chloe is a big hit, they call her ´little doll´and she waves at everyone.  Today its so hot, clear blue skies, feels about 35 degrees.

Our landlady lives in a house behind ours on the same pot of land.  There is a high all all around.  There are lots of pretty trees and birds atha sing differens songs from British birds.  There is a black metal gate out to the road.  I also saw a tortoise in our garden a few days ago!  I don´t know where hes got to.

Chau for now!

  2. Reading about your insects everywhere reminds me of when I went to south of France that year for the summer and every night I had to clear a carpet of insects off the floor in my bedroom before I could go to bed! And your squashed ants reminds me of the pink panther tune…. dead ant, dead ant…..deadant deadant deadant, deadant, deadannnnnt, dedu de la da da….

Thinking of you in the battle of the bugs and as you go into week 2 of your new life.xx

  3. Hi Both

So thrilled to hear you have seen your first tortoise. Didn’t I just say you would see some. Don’t envy you the mozzies though as they love me and I know just what a pain they can be. Drinking tonic water is supposed to help but I don’t know if you will have such things over there.
It is cold, cold, cold over here at the moment so we would like a little of your heat. No snow at the moment, just a bitter wind and low temps. All my tortoises are still asleep and will be for a while yet I hope.
Been thinking of you loads as you adjust to your new life.

Just a quick message to let you know we are thinking of you and praying for you. Really good to keep up with your news via the blog. Hope school is getting better for Ben and that you are finding more nice things to do Roz.
    Love to you all,
    Liz and David
